Burlington County New Jersey Real Estate. Should I Buy, Sell or Hold?

What Should I DO??

Everyone wants to know if we have hit the bottom of the real estate market.  No one knows.  Real estate is cyclical & regional.  I always tell my clients not to try and time the market, but to buy or sell to meet their needs.  I also tell my clients to look at real estate as a long term investment (minimum 5 years).  So no matter what the market looks like, it is the right time to buy for some, it is the right time to sell for others and the time to hold for the rest of the folks.

If you would like to discuss your options with a professional Realtor & Real Estate Consultant, Call Leander McClain, one of Burlington County's Top Real Estate Agents.  609-505-6578.  EXIT Buyers Plus Realty, 15 East Broad Street, Burlington, NJ 08016

Low Interest Mortgage Secrets

A low interest mortage is the fondest desire of every potential homebuyer. How do you get a low inerest rate mortgage? Well, while you can try to negotiate yourself with a commercial lender, you might also want to think about a mortgage broker

A mortgage broker will do some of the footwork on your behalf. A mortgage broker may know about smaller lending institutions which are offering a much more competitive interest rate than a big bank or finance company. However, mortgage brokers will not necessarily work with all potential lenders. They are also not completely unbiased because they my prefer certain lenders who provide them with the best commission. So, you will always have to do some checking of your own. Having said that, a mortgage broker may find some great opportunities for you to et the lowest possible interest rate.

Once a mortgage broker identifies some good low interest rate mortgage opportunities, it's up to you to be sure that the mortgage, and its options match your needs.

Also, don't just take the brokers word for it that a company is a good one....check! You have to remember that the mortgage broker will be getting a commission if you take your mortgage with the company they recommend. Since they get a commission they are not completely "unbiased". For instance, they could recommend a company which gives them a better commission level. So, check before you say yes.

In the end, even if you use a broker, do some research yourself. You'll be more confident when you do sign on the dotted line. More importantly, you might even find a better low interest rate mortgage deal than the one you're being offered.

Leander McClain - Sometimes You Have To Let Go Of The Past

In my old bedroom in my moms house is a relic of my childhood.   It's a stuffed tiger that I received when I was born. That was 43 years ago.  The tiger doesn't have a name, but was one of my favorite toys when I was a child.  When one of his glass eyes fell out, my grandmother sewed a button in it's place.  When it split open down its back, my mom sewed a patch on it's back.  As far as I was concerned, he was good as new.  My little tiger will be around as long as I am.  My children may not feel the same about my tiger as I do, so I suspect his life will be as long as mine and not a day longer.

As we travel through life, we must make many choices.  Do I hold on to what I have or do I let it go?  Do I keep the job that I hate or do I try a new and different career?  Should I keep the old friend, the one which whom I keep arguing and no longer have much in common with,  or do I try to find new friends?  Do I keep the house that I have lived in for the past 15 years or should I seek out a new home?  One thing is for sure.  You can't push and pull at the same time.  You must make a decision.  Many times, that is easier said than done.

Throughout my life, when I have had to make a difficult decision, the result has been overwhelmingly positive.  I will not let go of my little tiger.  However, other things and people from my past are long gone.  Sometimes you must let go of your past to get to your future

We All Gotta Eat - Leander McClain's Shrimp w/Garlic Sauce

I often am faced with the challenge of coming up with something that tastes good and is nutritious.  I learned how to cook at an early age.  My mom's theory was that I would never starve if I knew how to cook.   So at the age of 7, I learned how to cook oatmeal.  I have since progressed to more elaborate meals and I still enjoy an occasional bowl of oatmeal.  Below is a recipe that I came up with.  The purpose of the carrot and the celery is to sneak some veggies into the dish...shhhhh...don't tell my kids.  Enjoy.

Leander McClain's Shrimp With Garlic sauce

Ingredients
5-7 garlic cloves diced small
1/2- 1 large onion diced small
1 small carrot shredded
1/8 green pepper diced small
1-2 stalks celery diced small
2 heaping TBS flour
2 cups warm water
2 TBS Olive oil
seasoned salt
pepper
1-1/12 pounds shrimp

Mix flour in 1 cup of water and reserve.
Sprinkle 1 1/2 tsp seasoned salet & 1/2 tsp pepper onto the diced onions.
Heat oil in pan (med-high heat)
Add onions, carrots, green peppers & celery. Stir fry until onions are wilted. Add garlic & sautee for approx 1 1/2 min. Careful not to burn the garlic.
Add shrimp adn water with flour. Add additional cup of water.
Simmer until this as desired. Taste and adjust seasoning. If not enough sauce, adjust recipe to include more water & flour mixture.

Bon Apetit
