Burlington County kicks off the fifth season at the amphitheater with free, live entertainment under the stars on Saturday, June 7th with the new Big Break talent competition.
Set to begin at 6:30 p.m., the opening show will feature 40 talented vocalists selected during Big Break auditions in March. These local singers will perform live before the audience and a panel of three judges. At the end of the evening, the judges will select six finalists, and the audience will choose the grand prize winner who will return on Aug. 2 to perform during the amphitheater's Big Break Meets American Idol showcase concert.
That performance will feature Ayla Brown & Kevin Covais, who appeared during "Season 5" of the popular television show.
Sponsored by the Freeholders, the amphitheater is located on Pioneer Boulevard off Woodlane Road in Westampton. Free performances have been planned for every Friday and Saturday evening from June 7 through Sept 13.
Since 2008 marks the Fifth Anniversary of the amphitheater, residents will see an exciting lineup of new entertainment from classic oldies and rock n' roll, to jazz and blues, to classical and opera.
Other entertainment includes: a Night at the Opera; International Music Night; All American 4th of July Weekend; Jazz Under the Stars; Classic Oldies Night; Kids Night; Sensational Soul Music; An Evening with the Divas; Rockin' the Night Away; and Viva Las Elvis.
Also planned are a free performance on Sunday, Aug. 10, and Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Most shows begin at 6:30 p.m. Check the schedule for show times. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, but for the courtesy of others, please do not set up chairs until after 4 p.m. for Friday and Saturday evening performances. Beverages and refreshments will be available for sale. No alcohol, pets, or glass containers allowed. Performances are subject to change.
