Are You a VULTURE or a SPARROW?
One of the things that we all have to do from time to time is to be honest with ourselves. We have to look in the mirror and determine if like what we see.
I always contend that we become similar to the people that we associate with. If you associate with vultures, YOU are probably a vulture. Vultures seldom attack healthy animals, but may kill the wounded or sick. They gorge themselves when prey is abundant, till they are full. They they sit, sleepy or half torpid, to digest their food.
IS THIS HOW YOU ACT?
Do you take advantage of the situations in which someone else loses and you win? Do you hang around a bunch of negative people, waiting for something to die?....ie. "I am not going to actively prospect, but I will hang around the office and see who has the greatest leads...so I can ride on their coat tails". You will notice that most times, vultures do not eat alone. When an animal is killed, the others will join in on the feast until there is nothing left.
I prefer to associate with the SPARROWS.
Sparrows are small plump birds that feed on seeds, grain, flowers, butterflies, etc. When you see sparrows, they are usually in large groups. Each sparrow is searching for his/her own food. The sparrow is always prospecting for its next meal. The sparrow does not wait for someone else to find a meal. Each sparrow does his/her own thing.
A recently received a piece of inspirations material that included following affirmation.
"I choose to continue finding ways to spend more and more time with people who are positive, motivated and committed to deliberate and organized business systems that produce consistent, predictable, reliable income".
This sounds exactly like a sparrow to me. The sparrow works with deliberate intentions..DAILY.
Do you associate with sparrows or vultures? Here is an experiment. Take your top five friends income. Add them together and divide by five. Is that income similar to your income? Do you associate with people who are where you are..or, do you associate with people who are where you want to be?
This is just some food for thought. Everyone have a great and PROSPEROUS Day.

Definitely a sparrow! Great analogy Leander.
Thanks
Bo
Awesome and thought provoking analogy along with pics.
Leander, First -- hearty greetings to a fellow EXIT agent. It's good to meet you! Second -- Beautiful analogy! Sparrows have always been some of my favorite birds -- now I have a bit more apprecation for why. That little parable is worth passing on. Thanks for the lift to start the day. Finally, one of the most important tools I have is the great Affirmation Principle. Thanks for sending this one out to all of us. Right back at ya with the wishes for prosperity!
Long live the sparrows! By the way it's also a great song by Simon and Garfunkel. If you don't know it you should listen to it.
All my friends are sparrows! I know I'm a sparrow too, I love going and "finding my own food". Great post.
I am flagging this to be featured in ActiveRain, brother....VERY nice post!!!
Vultures or sparrows...I liked the title even!!
=-)
I am going to flag this post also Leander. Love the comparison and the story. Thanks for sharing.
Great points! It is tough to rip away from the vultures because they're everywhere. Us sparrows have to hold strong.
This sounds a lot like something that the Bible says....IMAGINE THAT! The Bible says that IF you walk with the wise...you become wise. It also says...
1 Corinthians 15:33-34 - Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.
I choose to hang out with sparrows, my friend. GBU!!
I am no different than the others....a sparrow. Anything less is selling myself short of what God intended for me. Great illustration and GBU.
Leander - Yes we all need to be more like the sparrow. I was going to do the little test but it wouldn't work since I don't now what my friends make.....lol
To My Fellow Sparrows:
Thank you very much for all of your positive comments. I was raised as a sparrow. I don't have much vulture in me. I prefer to help someone along the way if I can. Everyone have a great and prosperous week
